My Services

Deliver your medical, technical, and health messages to key audiences.

Healthcare professionals, disease-specific organizations, academic organizations, and medical/scientific communication companies rely on me to convey their medical, technical, and health-related messages to key audiences. Professionally and within their timeframe.

Your website represents you. Especially by what it says - the words and concepts it conveys. Let me give your target audience the information they need, in consistent language that tells them who you are and how you can help them.

Patients and other readers need to understand complex medical concepts about their conditions. A well-written article or blog post can do just that. Give them a clear, compelling story about their health, in plain language that enables them to act.

Once your audience knows they can trust you for valuable, insightful medical and scientific information, they will be happy to sign up for a monthly newsletter. What better way to stay on their radar and stand out from the crowd than to provide news, research discoveries, and seasonal health topics?

Sometimes a patient needs more than digital information. Whether you need to explain perioperative details of a surgical procedure, the prep and process of a specific procedure, or even highlight a key feature of your facility, a well-written brochure can do the job.

You have the daunting task of writing medical manuscripts for publication in peer- reviewed journals. Why not save yourself the headache of the editing process? I edit medical and biomedical manuscripts, offering basic to substantive assistance. I am geared to follow journal instructions to authors and adhere to style guides. Your work will stand out and communicate just as you intend it to.

You have critical scientific or technical information to convey to your readers. Top research with polished presentation gains top attention. So, after you’ve written your manuscript or document, leave the editing “busy work” to me. Your message will speak clearly and concisely, distinguishing you from the crowd.

Steps in the journey:

From contact to completed copy

01

First, we’ll have a meeting to agree on your objectives, the scope of the project, the terms, the timeline, and the deadline. I listen to your needs and outline how I can meet them. We sign a contract and are off and running.

Next, I gather all the background information needed to fully understand you, your objectives, the topic, and your audience(s). This is my time to learn, through provided materials, research, and reaching out to prospective readers.

At the previously agreed upon time, I’ll provide you with a draft of the copy for your feedback. You let me know how it sits with you, where adjustments are needed, and any other comments. This can take place over Zoom, via editing mode in Google docs or Word, or both. We’ll continue this process until you’re satisfied with the work.

Where possible, the next step is to test the copy directly with potential readers. For medical writing, this may be patients, families, or caregivers. For scientific or technical writing, you will identify the potential audiences, and we’ll run it by some volunteers. We’ll ask for feedback and incorporate that into the copy as appropriate.

You always get the last word. Once we’re there, the final step is my delivering the final copy. On time. I stand by my work, so it will be top quality writing. The kind that meets your audience where they are and takes them to where you want them to be: engaged, educated, and empowered to act.
